Fat City is Metairie's dense pocket of apartments, bars and offices next to Lakeside Shopping Center. Buildings on Transcontinental Drive often need the elevator reserved, and Veterans Memorial Blvd parking takes planning. Our Fat City moving company crew sets both up ahead of time and keeps pace with a high-turnover neighborhood. Need Fat City movers or apartment movers near Veterans Blvd? Call us.
What We Move in Fat City
Fat City is Metairie's high-density entertainment and residential corridor — apartment buildings on Transcontinental Drive, condo complexes along Veterans Memorial Blvd, and constant resident turnover. AD Movers specializes in exactly this kind of move: elevator coordination, tight parking logistics, and fast efficient crews that respect your building's time windows.
Full apartment and house moves throughout Fat City and the Veterans Blvd corridor. We coordinate with your building management, reserve elevator windows, and move you out and in without conflicts.
Multi-story buildings on Transcontinental Drive and Veterans Blvd require elevator reservations and strategic truck positioning. We handle both — we call your building manager before move day to reserve the elevator and arrive at the right time.
Already have a truck or PODS? We supply the crew — load, unload, or rearrange. Same professional team, no truck required from our side.
Need help getting packed before move day? We bring boxes and supplies. Full or partial packing available — we protect everything like it's our own.
What Fat City Customers Say
Word for word from our Google Business Profile, where AD Movers is rated 4.8★ across 108 reviews.
“We only had a large, very heavy conference room table to move, but they were very professional AND very reasonable. After moving the table, they even helped clean the heavy glass topper.”
“Absolutely amazing team! Not only were they on time and fast but super friendly! They made the process of moving much less stressful. Highly recommend!”
“I used AD for a move within the city. They were professional and hard working. I would definitely use them for a move again in the future.”

Right-Sized Trucks for Fat City Buildings
Not every Fat City building has a loading dock or wide access. We match truck size to your building's specific access — using a smaller vehicle when Transcontinental Drive parking is tight, or a full truck when the building's lot allows. We're a licensed Fat City Metairie moving company that plans logistics before we show up, not when we arrive.

Yes — we do this on every apartment move. Many buildings along Transcontinental Drive and Veterans Blvd require advance elevator reservations. We call your building management the week before move day to book the window and confirm parking. You don't have to handle any of it.
Yes, we're experienced with both. We time our arrival strategically around peak traffic, and we use the right truck size for your building's specific access. On Veterans Blvd, we coordinate zone parking. On Transcontinental Drive, we work with building staff on loading logistics.
Yes. If your building requires a COI before allowing your movers to enter, we provide one upon request — typically within 24 hours of your booking. This is standard for many Jefferson Parish apartment complexes.
Same-week availability is usually possible in Fat City. For month-end and weekend moves — the busiest periods in apartment complexes along Veterans Blvd — booking 7–10 days ahead ensures you get your preferred date and elevator window.
